At EDF, Success is Personal – and with us, your career journey is yours to shape.

As a Shift Chemistry Technician at Sizewell B Power Station, you’ll play an important role in supporting nuclear safety, industrial safety, and plant health. You’ll work with laboratory instrumentation and analytical techniques including ion chromatography and gas chromatography while supporting operational chemistry across the station.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Sampling and monitoring chemistry across nuclear, conventional and water treatment plant systems
  • Carrying out laboratory analysis using wet chemistry and instrumental analytical techniques
  • Maintaining, calibrating and repairing laboratory and plant instrumentation
  • Investigating plant issues and preparing documentation to support the site chemistry programme
  • Providing technical advice and supporting outages, emergency arrangements and dry storage campaigns

  • Chemical safety practices, including COSHH compliance
  • Laboratory analytical techniques such as ion chromatography and gas chromatography
  • Quality control and quality assurance practices within a laboratory environment
  • As a minimum, you will be educated to GCSE/National Qualification standards (or equivalent),
  • A ONC/A level/HNC or equivalent in chemistry or a related science will also have an advantage.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.

We are offering a starting salary of between £36,497 and £55,574, with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.
