About us LionVolt is a deep-tech startup working on a revolutionary battery using a 3D anode architecture that will boost battery performance and make an important contribution to achieving global net zero goals. A step change in battery performance is in high demand across our application markets, and our architecture boosts energy density and charging rates without compromising safety or lifetime.

Our multinational, highly diverse team comprises 50+ people across multiple locations. Our innovation centre is based at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, a leading European innovation hub, and we also operate a cell manufacturing facility in Scotland. In addition, we have recently opened a new production line for 3D anodes at the Brainport Industries Campus (BIC) in Eindhoven, further expanding our manufacturing capacity and giving us everything we need to realise our innovation.

Your Role As an enthusiastic lab manager, you will support and strengthen our 3D solid-state battery team in Eindhoven. We are looking for someone with a background in materials or chemical laboratory environments who enjoys building efficient laboratory operations. Our laboratories are based at HTC7, and we also collaborate with external testing and research facilities. • Maintain chemical inventories, SDS/MSDS databases, RI&E documentation and safety approvals.
  • Ensure proper storage, labelling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous waste.
  • Lead safety inspections, incident investigations and corrective actions that are related to the lab facilities.
  • Organize and facilitate laboratory safety briefings and training sessions.

Equipment & Infrastructure

  • Own the laboratory equipment portfolio and ensure high equipment availability.
  • Coordinate maintenance, calibration, qualification and validation activities.
  • Manage external vendors and service providers.
  • Support procurement, installation and commissioning of new laboratory equipment.
  • Act as the first point of contact for laboratory infrastructure and equipment-related issues.

Quality & Documentation

  • Implement and maintain laboratory documentation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, work instructions and record-keeping requirements.
  • Manage deviations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise, train and mentor laboratory staff.
  • Support onboarding and competency development of new employees.
  • Collaborate closely with QSHE, R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations teams.
  • Act as the laboratory representative in cross-functional projects and discussions.

This is who we are looking for:

  • MBO4 / Bachelor's degree in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • Min 2 years of management experience in a chemical lab or similar environment
  • Experience in occupational health and safety
  • Having experience with electrochemistry/batteries will be a plus
  • Able to apply a critical view on new and existing processes
  • You are currently located in the Netherlands and can converse well in Dutch & English

What we offer:

  • Be part of a pioneering company developing next-generation battery technology.
  • Opportunity to grow and develop in a dynamic and innovative environment.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
