Safety including cyber safety is bp’s top priority. It’s crucial that we empower our people to stay ahead of the evolving and increasing cyber threat, so they continue to be a resilient first line of defence.  

The Cyber behaviors and engagement lead role sits within the digital governance, risk and compliance (DGRC) organization and will report to the VP, DGRC. The role will work closely with the DGRC cyber behaviors principal to deliver the engagement activities set out by the cyber behaviors strategy and play a leading part in supporting our efforts to drive a culture of strong cyber security behaviors globally across bp.  

Under the direction of the cyber behavior's strategy, the successful candidate will design and lead the implementation of our global cyber engagement campaigns, helping ensure our people know what they need to do to keep themselves and bp cyber safe against current and emerging cyber threats.  

In addition, the successful candidate will support the delivery and adoption of new global digital behavioral tools and products across bp and also design and lead the change and engagement strategy for wider DGRC initiatives. They will also use AI to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our cyber behaviors products, processes and measurement  

Please note that roles based out of SJS or Sunbury will move to Timber Square, Southwark, from Q4 2027  

Key accountabilities:

  • Design, lead and deliver bp’s global cyber engagement campaigns, translating cyber risks into clear, practical campaigns that build awareness, strengthens cyber security behaviors and help our people keep themselves and bp cyber safe.
  • Lead wider engagement activity, including content, social posts, presentations and briefings, tailoring messages for key audiences and making the required actions clear. This includes directly supporting senior leaders, including SVPs, to champion cyber behaviors across bp.
  • Design and lead the change and engagement strategy for global digital behavioral tools and wider DGRC initiatives, ensuring successful adoption, sustained use and measurable value across bp.
  • Provide strategic change and engagement advice to teams across digital security, shaping behavior-led approaches that turn cyber risk priorities into clear actions, targeted interventions and measurable outcomes.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities, using AI, automation and data-led insight to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and measurement of cyber behaviors products and processes.
  • Act as the lead collaborate with bp’s global communications function, ensuring cyber behaviors and wider DGRC messaging is joined up, timely and aligned with wider employee engagement activity.

  • Campaign and programme delivery – leading global engagement campaigns that build awareness, drive action and deliver measurable impact.
  • Organizational change – shaping adoption plans for global digital tools and behavior-led initiatives, from launch through to sustained use.
  • Partner engagement – influencing senior leaders, teams and communication partners to align messages, actions and outcomes.
  • Measurement and evaluation – using data, feedback and behavioral insight to track impact, recommend improvements and guide future strategy.
  • Project leadership – handling priorities, timelines and cross-functional delivery across global behavior change and engagement work.
  • Influencing – leading activities that rely on others to deliver, building alignment, securing commitment and keeping teams focused on shared outcomes.
  • Communication and storytelling – making complex topics clear, relevant and committed for global employee and leadership audiences.
  • Relationship building – working confidently with internal partners and external agencies to deliver joined-up, high-quality outcomes.

Future Location Notice:  This role will start in Sunbury, London. bp has announced a planned office move to Timber Square, London, with all positions currently advertised in Sunbury, including this one, expected to relocate around Q4 2027-Q1 2028.
